The Community Football Scheme offers a wide range of football activities for boys and girls between 3 and 14 years old.
The activities include:
Football Centres (Age 6 - 11) in New Elgin, Bishopmill and Elgin Central.
- An introduction in to football basic skills and techniques e.g passing, dribbling shooting etc.
- Taught the rules and regulations of the game and introduced to team games
- Learn how to complete SAQ drills to improve on body coordination, footwork and general fitness.
- A fun and friendly environment for children of abilities to learn and develop at their own pace.
Goalkeeping Centre (Age 6 – 14)
- Drill specific training for the specialised position, from specifically qualified coaches.
- Introduction to basic goalkeeping skills, and development training for regular goalkeepers.
- Learn how to complete SAQ drills to improve on body coordination, footwork and general fitness.
- Information on glove care, glove and clothing recommendation
- A fun and friendly environment for children of abilities to learn and develop at their own pace.
Little Dribblers (Age 3 – 5)
- An introduction to a group activity for the first time.
- Fun and energetic activities to develop hand eye coordination and interaction skills.
- Introduction to our “1000 first touches initiative”.
- Number and colour games.
- Drills to develop confident and loud children (Sorry!).
- Pressure free environment, where they can take part when they feel interested.
The community scheme is currently involved in delivering the H20 project, in partnership with Scottish water and The SPFL Trust. The delivery takes place in local primary schools to help educate the children about the water cycle and the importance of water in the body.
